Having lived in Los Gallardos for 18 years, I have never visited the communal swimming pool at the top of the village. Why not? Well why would I? I have a pool that I can use at home!
However, yesterday, invited by friends, we visited the pool and what super day we had.
As residents of Los Gallardos, entry is only 3 Euros for the day to get access to the 25m long main pool and a smaller pool for the children. “Smaller pool” it may be but I think it is larger than some community pools.
Even better value is the monthly pass for only 25 Euros. This runs for 4 weeks rather than a calendar month so for anyone visiting more than three times a week it is a no brainer!
The pools are bordered by artificial grassed terraces with sun loungers available and two pergola covered areas, whilst other spots are given shade by trees.
Adjacent to the pool area there is a chringuito bar serving hot and cold drinks, and a selection of tapas and main plates. Our friends had reserved a table for the seven of us and had ordered a fish lunch which included red snapper, sardines, calamari and mussels, as well as some lomo and of course bread and alioli and a few beers and wines too. All of the fish was freshly ordered and it all cost only 18€ per person.
Opening at 11:00 and closing at 20:00, 7 days a week through the summer, if you fancy a good swim in a full length well maintained and life guarded pool, or just a bob around in the shallow end to top up your tan, then I would thoroughly recommend it.
Take proof of your Los Gallardos address and you will benefit from the low entry price. I think, for non Los Gallardos residents the price is 10€ per person.
UPDATE 01/09/2024 – The pool is now closed until summer 2025.
