The Town Hall square of Olula del Río was the scene of the presentation this Monday morning of the 10th Edition of the Valle del Almanzora and Sierra de los Filabres Rally.
The launch took place with the presence of representatives of the Commonwealth of Municipalities and authorities of the towns where the test will take place on March 8 and 9, Arboleas, Cóbdar, Líjar, Olula del Río, Albanchez , Cantoria and Chercos, together with the president and delegate of the Andalusian Automobile Federation, those responsible for the safety of the competition and the champion of the Andalusian Chrono Rally, Sergio Capel.
For Salvador Segura, president of the Balcón del Almanzora Club and one of the promoters of the test, “this edition is special; it will have new features such as the change of route, including municipalities in it such as Cantoria, Arboleas and Cóbdar, repeating Olula as the nerve center del Río, along with towns such as Albanchez, Líjar and Chercos. A rally is planned with a new entry both in the number of entrants and in world-class leading cars that will make it very difficult to win the 10th Anniversary.”
This edition is dedicated to a well-known mechanic in the area, Manolo el de Elvira, from Olul, now deceased, who participated in previous editions aboard his 124 with the number 17.
